1. Have a wind-down routine (a series of soothing, predictable steps) that you do before each nap to help your little one transition from awake/play time to sleep time. This routine does not need to be long or complicated, but it can be a helpful tool in helping your baby switch gears and prepare for sleep.
2. Make sure that you're following an age-appropriate sleep schedule as that can assist your baby in having an easier time falling asleep and staying asleep.
3. How your baby falls to sleep at the beginning of the sleep period is what she will look for in the middle of the sleep period, so working with your little one on falling to sleep independently at the start of nap time can be of great benefit.
4. Help your baby learn how to fall asleep independently at bedtime too. Bedtime is the best time to learn how to self soothe, so the more your baby can work on mastering this skill at bedtime, the easier it can be to work on it during the day as well.
