If you (parents) need a dim nightlight so you can see when offering a nighttime feeding or when moving about the room, that's fine. But just remember that light signals the brain that it's time to be awake, so you want to make sure that the nightlight is dim. If you can read a book in the room with the nightlight on, it's too bright.
