During the day...
-Keep the lights on and the blinds open when he/she is awake
-If the weather is nice, try to go outside for a little bit with your baby. Some exposure to fresh air and a little sunlight can be a good mood booster for you and it has been shown to help babies sleep better.
-Try to not let your little one go more than 3 hours without a daytime feeding. Save those longer sleep stretches for nighttime.
During the night...
-Keep the lights dim and close the blinds.
-Choose more quiet and soothing activities (reading, warm bath and/or gentle infant massage)
-Nighttime feedings and diaper changes are not play time. Keep your interactions with your little one brief and boring. It's best to keep the lights off or have a small nightlight on while feeding/changing. Save the playing and fun time for the daytime.
