Like older children and adults, babies sleep best in a dark, quiet, and comfortable environment. Ideally, your baby should nap in the same place he/she sleeps at night, but if you are not able to be home for nap time try your best to find a quiet & dark place for him/her to sleep during the day as noise and light can decrease the quality and amount of sleep that your little one gets.

An excellent article (please see link below) on the importance of teaching your kids to fail. This is true when it comes to sleep training too! If you always help your child fall asleep he/she will likely never learn to do it properly for him/herself, which in some cases can lead to years of sleep challenges. Instead, if you loving support your child while he/she learns how to self soothe he/she will develop a life-long skill. What can be helpful is remembering that supporting your child while he/she is learning how to work through big emotions such as frustration is gift, not a punishment.
